John Eppstein founded John’s Automotive Care on April 1st, 1998.
Our story may have begun on April Fools Day, but our dedication to the safety, drivability, and longevity of your vehicle is no joke. Our team of ASE-certified auto mechanics has been trusted to take care of drivers throughout San Diego for over a decade, but our story has humble beginnings.
At the young age of 5, John Eppstein was already enthralled with the inner workings of machinery. His mother caught him taking apart his alarm clock, but when she left to get his father, John had already put the clock back together again. This was just the beginning of John's passion for mechanics.
Ten years later, John's mechanical skills had progressed toward something a little bit more complicated: engines. Left with only a toolbox and a few spare parts, John transformed a beat-up junker into a mechanical masterpiece, and he hasn’t looked back from pursuing his passion since.
From working as an auto mechanic at a gas station to now owning a chain of auto repair shops, John has loved every minute of it. It doesn’t matter if he is interacting with his customers or developing a capable team of ASE-certified auto mechanics; John cherishes the time he spends at his shop.
John's dedication to quality auto repair and customer service is unmatched. He listens to his team, his customers, and especially the purr of a car engine to ensure each operation component is firing on all cylinders. His commitment to honesty and integrity has earned John's Automotive Care the AAA-approved Napa Auto Care Gold-Certified, and Certified Green Business designations.
But John's passion for mechanics isn't just limited to his shop. He loves playing sports such as beach volleyball, and as a proud supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of East County, John is committed to giving back to his community in every way possible.
